19-year-old CA aspirant killed in road accident
Somya, a resident of Maharani Farm in Shiprapath area, was returning home after attending coaching classes with her friend Monika Sharma around 9 am on Friday when the mishap occurred.

Jaipur: A 19-year-old girl, identified as Somya Maheshwari who aspired to be a charted accountant (CA) was killed when the scooty she was riding slipped on the Airport Road near Jawhar Circle in Jaipur on Friday. The girl was taking a turn when the scooty went out of control and slipped. Her friend who was riding pillion also sustained injuries, police said, however she was discharged after primary treatment.

Somya, a resident of Maharani Farm in Shiprapath area, was returning home after attending coaching classes with her friend Monika Sharma around 9 am on Friday.
After her Scooty slipped, some passers-by rushed her and Monika to a private hospital where Somya died while undergoing treatment, while her friend was discharged as she had sustained after first-aid as she sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Somya was allegedly not wearing helmet. Her father, Rakesh Maheshwari who is a businessman, and other family members were inconsolable. Somya had celebrated her birthday just two days ago and was looking forward to a bright future.
“She was doing great in studies and aspiring that she would become a CA,” said a family member.
Somya was reportedly following her friends who were riding two wheelers ahead of her. She sustained serious head injuries and died due to excessive bleeding.
The police handed over the body to family members after a postmortem examination.
