Jaipur: Those above 45 years were administered Covid-19 vaccination across the state on Thursday. The medical and health department has set up over 300 vaccination centres in Jaipur district. Of them, 180 are in Jaipur city.
The vaccination drive at government hospitals, primary health centres and other medical facilities started at 9 am on Thursday. There was a mixed response to Covid-19 vaccination drive for all those above 45 years. While queues were witnessed at vaccination centres in Ajmer, some cities reported a lukewarm response. There was no rush or crowd at any of the vaccination centres in Jaipur.
The people are taking advantage of free vaccination at government hospitals across the state. The private hospitals are charging Rs 250 as per the rates determined by the Rajasthan government.
Senior medical and health department officials said that the people should carry an identification card like Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card or passport. They will need to show the identification document at the vaccination centre.
The officials said that the vaccination process would be faster if the people register www.cowin.gov.in, set an appointment and go to the recommended vaccination centre.
Some centres in Jodhpur reported technical glitches in the online registration for vaccination.
“People should get vaccinated so that the spread of the virus can be contained. Don’t pay attention to rumours or misinformation on social media and WhatsApp. No long-term side effects have been reported,” said an official.
