18-year-old beaten to death over minor accident in Subhash Chowk

JAIPUR: Tensions escalated in the Walled City area after a bike collision incident in Gangapol Market near Subhash Chowk. An 18-year-old boy was severely beaten, causing his death during treatment.
The boy’s bike collided with another two-wheeler. A local senior citizen attempted to intervene and defuse the situation. But the boy became embroiled in a confrontation with onlookers.
The altercation quickly turned violent, with some attacking the boy using rods and sticks. He sustained severe injuries, particularly to his head and legs. While the boy was the primary target of the assault, the other youth involved in the initial collision managed to flee the scene.
Reacting to reports of the altercation, Jaipur Police arrived on the scene and rushed the critically injured boy to the trauma department of SMS Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The incident caused tension when news of the boy’s death spread. A crowd gathered at SMS Hospital. The police carried out overnight raids and detained about 12 individuals in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with police interrogating those in custody.
Earlier today, the local residents staged a road blockade at Ramganj Bazaar. As the tension escalated, police and administrative officials tried to placate the protestors. It took the police three hours to clear the blockade.
The police officials said that the law and order situation in the area was under control.
